On February 21, 2024, the Calumet Region celebrated the 70th Annual Sportsmanship Dinner at the Halls of St. George in Schererville, Indiana. Robbie Hummel, known for his NBA career and expertise as a college basketball analyst, served as the evening's host speaker, sharing valuable insights and stories from his career.
A highlight of the night was honoring William 'Bill' Hasse, our President of Hasse Construction, with the Patron Humanitarian Award. This award recognized his years of consistent support for the sportsmanship program, which was established in 1954 by local businessmen. The program aims to instill a sense of fair play and sportsmanship in young athletes, a mission that continues to resonate in the region's sports culture today.
