Hasse Earns 2018 Commercial Project of the Year Award for IKORCC Campus

Two buildings totaling almost 75,000 SF were recently completed & honored for excellence in construction


May 11, 2019: Hasse Construction Company was awarded the prestigious “2018 Commercial Project of the Year Award” from the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) for the new IKORCC Campus – Training & Administration Buildings located in Merrillville, IN that was completed this month.


The CAF hosts an annual award ceremony in partnership with the Northwest Indiana Building Roundtable (NWIBRT) to recognize excellence in construction and safety.


The Carpenter Union Training Facility building is a new two story 60,850 SF, pre-cast concrete building with bar joist and metal deck. The $7 million building included all site work, including utilities, parking lots, site lighting, and more.  The building is completed with all interior finishes including welding booth’s, bridge crane, drywall, framing, casework, doors, frames & hardware, curtain walls, painting, HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinklers and electrical.  First and second levels are classrooms, offices and common areas.


The Carpenter Administration Building a new single story 12,500 SF, pre-cast concrete bar joist and metal deck Local Carpenter Union Administration building includes all site work, including utilities, parking lots, site lighting, and more.  The building is complete with all interior finishes including drywall, framing, casework, doors, frames & hardware, curtain walls, painting, HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinklers and electrical.


The IKORCC Merrillville project was recognized for being completed on schedule, within budget, with minimal disruption to the operation, all while upholding the highest commitment to safety with Hasse Construction Company.


The training center will help thousands of people build their careers in the industry. Carpenters, floor coverers, and millwrights will receive the latest skill & safety training thanks to the new facility.
