Calumet City, IL: May 29, 2018: Hasse Construction Company has been awarded general contracting services to build a new $10.8 million dollar recreation campus on 2.3 acres located just west of the downtown square in Crown Point, IN. The construction of the 44,500 SF Bulldog Park includes a two-story amenities building, an amphitheater and viewing lawn, a splash pad, and a pavilion that doubles as a regulation hockey and ice skating rink. The amenity building will house the city's Special Events and Parks Department offices. It will have multiple meeting rooms, an ADA-compliant elevator and each floor will also be equipped with a snack bar/kitchen area.
Bill Hasse, owner of Hasse Construction, accepted the challenge handed to him. “This is a high profile project, and it’s on a tight time schedule. The goal is to have residents ice skating by the end of the year.” Hasse said. Bulldog Park will draw not only Crown Point residents, but also people from across Northwest Indiana.
Groundbreaking occurred early May and construction is underway. Project completion for the first phase is scheduled for 2018, with entire project completion in April 2019. CSO Inc., of Indianapolis, IN is the project architect.
