JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Hasse Construction Company, Inc. is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to become an integral part of the team at our main office in Calumet City, Illinois.

​

The successful candidate for the Accounting Clerk position must be detail oriented and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The Accounting Clerk should enjoy communicating with others, as they will work closely with office and field staff and have experience using accounting software.

​

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monthly Billings as needed.

  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of company credit card purchases, including job costing and data entry.

  • Work in partnership with Project Managers in the processing and recording of subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and certified payroll.

  • Process contracts in a timely manner and be proactive with communicating feedback where questions or potential risks arise.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain contract filing system to ensure all records are complete, meet compliance requirements, are up to date, meet deadlines, and include all original contracts, relevant correspondence, amendments, certificates of insurance and renewal information.

  • Serve as the point of contact for general inquirers regarding contracts, service needs and reporting.

  • Will be trained as a backup to Accounts Payable.  Includes accounts payable coding and invoices, including data entry into accounting systems as needed, check runs, etc.

  • Perform various other accounting tasks as needed by accounting team.

Job Qualifications (Skills and Experience):

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting clerk or bookkeeper role, preferably in construction industry

  • Minimum of High School Diploma; Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s preferred

  • Extremely organized, with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment

  • Familiarity with accounting software, QuickBooks and CMiC experience preferred.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word, and Google Apps
